Treasurer & Office Manager
The three executive officers are the president, secretary, and treasurer.
The treasurer serves as the chief financial officer of the conference, its subsidiaries, and owned institutions. He provides financial management in the budgeting and operation of the conference. He also serves as the office manager.
Converted to Christianity at age 25, Leroy Bruch began pastoral ministry in the Ohio Conference in 1983 and was ordained to the Gospel Ministry in 1986. His pastoral ministry experience has included pastorates in the Ohio, New Jersey, Greater New York and Michigan Conferences. Prior to beginning ministry in the Michigan Conference he also served as Coordinator and then Director of Multi Ethnic Ministries for the Greater New York Conference. Since 2001 he has served as the Treasurer of the Michigan Conference. Pastor Bruch holds an Associate Degree in Business Administration, a Bachelors Degree in Accounting, a Bachelors Degree in Theology with a Secondary Education Minor and a Master of Divinity Degree. A veteran of the Vietnam conflict Pastor Bruch served as a staff auditor for the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) in Washington DC prior to entering full time pastoral ministry. He is a licensed Certified Public Accountant with licensure in the states of Maryland and Michigan. Pastor Bruch is married to Diana (Cross) Bruch and they currently reside in Grand Ledge Michigan.

Tom Owiti was born and raised in Kenya where he received his undergraduate degree in accounting from the University of Eastern Africa, Baraton. He came to the United States in 2002 to study and obtained his MBA in finance from Western Michigan University. Tom is blessed with three children: Ryan currently attending Andrews University; and Melisa and Enoch currently attending Battle Creek Academy.
Tom is a lifelong Adventist and has been active in Pathfinder and youth ministry. He started the Adventist Students for Christ Fellowship at WMU in 2003, where he became acquainted with CAMPUS and GYC. After graduation in 2004, Tom joined Kellogg Company as Senior Financial Analyst.
He also volunteered as treasurer (2005-2009) and board member for GYC (2005-2012); and later as treasurer and board member for AudioVerse (2010-2014). He eventually followed his passion for personal finance and joined Wells Fargo Advisors as Financial Advisor/Wealth Manager in Battle Creek in 2012.
In 2015, Tom accepted a call to the Wisconsin Conference and served as Business Manager/Treasurer for Wisconsin Academy until July 2017, upon which he accepted the call to the Michigan Conference to serve as under treasurer (& treasurer for the Michigan Association of SDA). He considers Michigan home and is very happy to return and serve the conference.
For recreation, Tom enjoys reading, nature walks, sight seeing, photography, biking, camping, physical fitness, and life management (coaching & mentoring).
