Sarah Canada serves as the director for Children’s Ministries for the Michigan Conference.  She is a member of the Belleville Church.  She graduated from Andrews University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education, with minors in Language Arts and Music Education.  Sarah taught for the Michigan Conference as a full-time teacher and music teacher.  She has also had the privilege of homeschooling her two daughters, and has played an active role at her churches, where she served as Vacation Bible School Director since 2006, children’s Sabbath School teacher since 2011, and Adventurer/Pathfinder teacher, as well.

Sarah enjoys using creative church programming to bring children to Jesus and has hoped to accomplish this through many methods, including creating virtual programs for Sabbath School, Children’s camp meeting, and Vacation Bible School.

Sarah has also loved serving on the Michigan Conference Women’s Ministries Board and GLOW Advisory Committee.  She’s excited about serving as the new Children’s Ministries Director and helping to nurture our children in small and large churches across the Michigan Conference.

Cheryl Bernard is the Children’s Ministry Assistant for the Michigan Conference. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education and a Master's in Curriculum and Instruction from Southern Adventist University. It was there that she met her husband Mike, and together they have served in Georgia, Indiana, California, and Michigan for almost 25 years.

Cheryl has served children and youth of all ages in schools, Sabbath School, VBS, summer camp, children’s choir, Adventurers, Pathfinders, and various camp meeting departments.

She enjoys music, nature, being creative, and serving the Lord with her four favorite people: Mike and their three sons Aaron, Ben, and Isaac. Cheryl is excited to assist our children’s ministry department in helping our kids know and fall in love with Jesus.
