Provided to the community were medical, dental, and vision services, as well as lifestyle and mental health counseling, massages, and haircuts. This intentional expression of compassion, health, and healing for the body, mind, and soul was an investment by lay leaders and members of the Alma and Ithaca churches primarily. With a spirit of unity, member and pastor volunteers from past and future Michigan church AMEN clinics eagerly helped. Unique enhancements of the Alma location for creating an environment to foster a strong, caring relationship with the community included providing free clothing and vegetables (many from the church’s own garden plot!).
Maya Sullivan, an Alma lay leader in organizing and marketing the free clinic to the local communities, shared that church members distributed over 1,200 fliers to neighborhoods, apartments, and local businesses in the weeks leading up to the event.
Nicole Braxton, AMEN Clinics Director, reports the following outcomes:
140 patients served
Nearly 200 individual services provided
Goal surpassed: 100 patients anticipated → 140 served
Over $82,000 in health care services delivered
Please pray for the precious souls touched by this event, that a relationship with the Great Physician may be fostered and nurtured to eternity.
